SGIA delighted to welcome leading sports brand PUMA

Puma is the latest sports brand to join the UK’s trade body for the sporting goods industry, the Sporting Goods Industry Association (SGIA). Bruna Romano, Puma’s Head of Global Customs & Trade Compliance, says:
“PUMA has been working with the SGIA in recent years, through our EU Association. The SGIA has always been extremely helpful and professional, providing us on-time updates for UK-related topics and detailed requirements for the market, which becomes even more important with Brexit. We are very happy to now make this cooperation official and look forward to a closer collaboration.”

PUMA is one of the world’s leading sports brands, designing, developing, selling and marketing footwear, apparel and accessories. For more than 70 years, PUMA has relentlessly pushed sport and culture forward by creating fast products for the world’s fastest athletes. PUMA offers performance and sport-inspired lifestyle products in categories such as Football, Running and Training, Basketball, Golf, and Motorsports. It collaborates with renowned designers and brands to bring sport influences into street culture and fashion. The PUMA Group owns the brands PUMA, Cobra Golf and stichd. The company distributes its products in more than 120 countries and employs about 14,000 people worldwide.

The SGIA represents manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of sporting goods in the UK. Established over 100 years ago, the association brings together the power of the sports brands for the benefit of the industry as a whole and represents the UK market. CEO Nick Palmer of the FSPA – the umbrella body over the SGIA – says:

“We’re led by our members and as a non-profit organisation, we are able to lobby on the causes which matter most to the industry to help our members thrive. As one of the UK’s foremost sports brands, PUMA’s involvement will be invaluable and we look forward to working with them closely to benefit our members and the whole industry.”

FSPA Director of General Affairs, Jane Montgomery adds:
“We’re delighted to welcome PUMA to the SGIA and to continuing what has already been a great relationship. Their input will be hugely important in our lobbying to Government, and we look forward to providing them with the very best industry services and benefits.”
