Walton Girls’ High School in Grantham, Lincolnshire is renowned for its excellence in arts and performing arts, but it also takes its sporting performance very seriously – investing in superb sports and keep fit facilities within the school grounds.
To ensure its sporting kit matched the outstanding facilities, Walton Girls’ High School drafted in the services of specialist school sportswear manufacturer Gymphlex, which created a suite of bespoke sporting garments using its GFORCE range.
The initial impetus for the change of kit was that the netball kits in particular were looking tired.
With the netball team enjoying success at both district and county levels, Brenda Joint, PE faculty leader, decided to look at ways of creating a more modern image.
She explains: “I changed the team kit because what we were wearing previously appeared outdated, especially when we were playing at district and county level.
“I think the students now look very smart – the colours are unique to the school and we are easily recognised in competition.
“We have even received several complements from other PE departments.”
The netball team was kitted out in contemporary netball shirts and skorts, produced in the school colours of navy blue and green.
The school also implemented a new hockey kit in the same distinctive identity.
