Sustainable technology, outstanding functionality and a state-of-the-art silhouette make the Tokyo Cape by Wolfskin Tech Lab a unique style statement.
The jury of the international Green Product Awards were incredibly impressed by this extraordinary combination. They awarded it the highlight product of the autumn/winter collection 2020/21 within the fashion category.
A statement from the jury read: “The Tokyo Cape from Wolfskin Tech Lab is an unusually well-designed solution whose recycling approach goes far beyond most of the approaches I have seen as the initiator of the award over the last seven years.”
Daniele Grasso, director apparel at Wolfskin Tech Lab, said: “We are particularly proud of this award in the fashion sector. Because with the waterproof cape we are showing how modern and stylish sustainability can look.”
The Green Product Award honours ideas and products, concepts and materials for creating a more sustainable future. With a record number of 1,463 entries from 52 countries on six continents, more participants than ever before applied for this year’s awards. From 169 nominees, an international jury finally selected the 37 best from the aspects of design, innovation and sustainability.
Since 2013, the international Green Product Award has provided a platform for manufacturers, design studios and agencies whose products and services stand out in the aspects of design, innovation and sustainability.
The outer material, membrane and lining of this waterproof cape are made entirely of recycled synthetic fibres. The lightweight Stormlock shell is windproof, while the Z-Liner membrane offers reliable protection against water. The filling made from RDS-certified down keeps the wearer super warm. A relaxed fit is ensured by the slightly flared A-shape. Stylish details like the large hood and the elegant sheen of the lining emphasise the cape’s fashion appeal.
