Stabio, Switzerland, 3rd March – The North Face dropped its latest brand campaign today with an anthem celebrating women everywhere. This is for the women who push boundaries, that summit mountains big and small, who are proud to be different and start journeys so others can follow.
The brand wants to raise the voices and share the actions of all the women pushing boundaries and questioning the status quo. Only through visibility can their stories motivate, inspire and engage everyone so together we can move mountains.
Voiced by artist Jess Glynne the anthem features an epic collection of women who push the limits including runner and human rights lawyer Stephanie Case, climber Ashima Shiraishi, one of the world’s best climbers, members of the She Runs It Community and artist, activist Miramar Muhd.
Amanda Calder-McLaren, Senior Brand Communication Director, The North Face, “As a brand we believe in the power of creating communities and you can’t have active, thriving communities without women in them. We’ve chosen to shine a light on some incredible women in the upcoming spring collections in the hope of inspiring more to get outdoors, connect, be with nature and to find a much-needed release.”
The campaign will run throughout the spring, with new stories dropping from now until May, celebrating and elevating powerful women and their inspiring stories.
Made by women, for women, the We Move Mountains collection features the unique artwork of Miramar Muhd, a Jordanian artist and activist, who, like the women that produce this collection in Jordan, inspires others to push boundaries. Her artwork featured on the collection celebrates female empowerment and solidarity through International Women’s Day.
When you see walls, climb them. When you start a journey do it not just for yourself, but for others to continue. That is the spirit that went into the Mountain Athletics collection. Featuring sweat-wicking FlashDry™ technology in a head-to-toe look of Pop Purple there is a matching tracksuit, t-shirt and shorts available in comfortable silhouettes that will not hold you back from any summit.
Run the trails at speed with the new Trail Running collection from The North Face. Worn by human rights lawyer and runner Stephanie Chase in the Explore Everyday anthem, the waterproof First Dawn Packable Jacket is the perfect outerwear to protect against the elements. With feather light fabrics in the Up with The Sun Tank and Movmynt shorts, the look is complete with the brand new, innovative VECTIV™ footwear technology.
From paved streets to dirt trails, Active Trail gives you the freedom to perform wherever you are. Introducing new silhouettes like the Vytrue Crop Top and Waist Pack Shorts in high performance, sweat-wicking fabrics, these new styles are built for the modern explorer. Showcasing the line is the She Runs It community who share a common purpose to empower women to take on new adventures and embrace sisterhood to enable others to do the same.
The Glacier Collection celebrates first ascents of some of the most iconic summits in the Alps by women. Lucy Walker, Daisy Voog and Beatrice Tamasson were mountaineers and the first women to summit some of the highest peaks in the Alps. Immortalised in a collection with S.Café® fabrics, that turn recycled coffee grounds into fabric, the collection isn’t just highly functional, immensely inspiring, it’s nature-friendly too.
