The three-year agreement starts from the 2014-15 season.
“We are delighted in announcing another step towards increased brand penetration within the UK basketball marketplace for Spalding and for Reading Rockets to join our extensive roster of teams across Europe,” Paul Sherratt, Spalding’s country manager for the UK and Ireland, says.
“Reading Rockets wish to encourage and enable people to participate in basketball, regardless of their ability, age, gender, status or ethnic background, to lift the performance and quality of basketball and this is something we
would like to be a part of.”
Nathan Oyenuga, Spalding’s marketing executive for the UK and Ireland, is a former Reading Rockets player.
He says: “Basketball has opened so many doors for me and it was a pleasure to assist my former team in securing this kit deal.
“Reading Rockets taught me a great deal of life skills, which go hand in hand with my current role. Bringing Reading Rockets and Spalding together I hope will raise the awareness of basketball in England.”
