Safety First but not at the expense of design

Is it possible to be well seen in traffic without having to sacrifice on design?

The answer is yes, with the waterproof and windproof functional rain jackets with the unique MapREflect design made by Showers Pass. The maker of bike and outdoor functional clothing, based in Portland (OR), is known for its innovative product ideas. So, it’s no surprise that the Showers Pass theme of visibility in traffic combines high-tech functionality with fashionable design.

The brand’s self-developed MapReflect technology is an imprint consisting of a highly reflective map pattern showing 11 international bike cities (Portland, New York, Washington DC, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, London, Newcastle, Berlin, Sydney and Taipei). The special thing about it is that due to the cutting technique used during production, each individual jacket has a unique design. The styles range from sporty MTB jackets in black with reflective patterns to classic commuter jackets in neon silver with LED lights.

Whether for active sports, casual cycling or commuting: everyone wants to be seen. Primarily, of course, for safety reasons in road traffic, but secondarily also because of the awareness to dress in an eye-catching way. The Atlas and Odyssey models fulfil both purposes 100 per cent. The Atlas jacket consists of a waterproof, windproof and breathable 3-layer shell material with a high stretch factor and a water column of 10,000 mm. The jacket also has a PFC-free DWR coating and is fully seam-sealed to prevent water from entering from the outside.

The Odyssey jacket belongs to the urban biker category and is especially convincing due to its waterproof, windproof and breathable 3-layer soft shell material (10,000 mm water column) with fleece lining and integrated hood. This style also has a DWR coating. The highlight of both models is the reflective map pattern produced by screen printing, which is visible from a distance of up to 200 metres. The Atlas jacket is available for an RRP of 279 Euro (incl. VAT) and the Odyssey jacket for an RRP of 189 Euro (incl. VAT) via Both models are available in black/MapREflect for both men and women.

Hi-Vis Torch is a true enlightenment. Thanks to the highly reflective Silver-MapREflect material on the main part of the upper body and the neon-coloured elite fabric on the facings under the arms, the Hi-Vis Torch jacket offers maximum visibility in traffic. In addition, there is the option of attaching a total of four LED lights, which can easily be integrated into the snaps provided for this purpose. The battery runs for about 200 hours in flashing mode. The jacket has a brushed lining on the inside for additional warmth on cold days.

This style is particularly suitable for commuters who travel in traffic-intensive areas in all weather conditions. The Hi-Vis Torch jacket is available in silver neon green for both men and women via for an RRP of 325 Euros (incl. VAT).

The Hi-Vis Elite model combines maximum visibility with top functionality and a sporty cut. The main part of the upper body consists of a neon-coloured, water- and windproof as well as breathable elite three-layer hard shell material with a water column of 30,000 mm and a breathability rate of 20,000 g/m²/24h. The outer sides under the arms are made of the highly reflective MapREflect material with a water column of 10,000 mm. In addition, the Hi-Vis Elite jacket also has the option of incorporating a total of four LED lights in the snaps provided for this purpose in order to achieve even better visibility.

The highly breathable material is particularly suitable for active commuters, who often travel long distances in traffic-intensive zones. The Hi-Vis Elite model is available via in neon green black and neon green silver for both women and men for an RRP of 279 euros (incl. VAT).
