Club Brugge, winner of 12 Belgian League titles, will become the ‘face’ of Puma in Belgium from July 1. The club joins an expanding portfolio of football teams currently endorsed by Puma that includes Tottenham, AS Monaco, reigning world champions Italy, Czech Republic, African champions Egypt, Cameroon and the Ivory Coast.
“Club Brugge is an established success story in Belgian football, enjoying national and international appeal,” says Sander van Gelder, General Manager of Puma Benelux. “We are proud to be partnering with the club and to renew the historic ties between Puma and Club Brugge.
“The partnership is an important cornerstone as part of the company strategy to further expand the growth in the football business following the unparalleled success in 2006.”
Puma was the official supplier to Club Brugge from 1976 to 1995, during which time the nine-time Belgian cup winners reached the European Cup Final in 1978, losing to Liverpool 1-0.
