Muc-Off, the global leaders in bicycle and motorcycle care and performance, are proud to announce their award win at the Design & Innovation Awards 2022, taking victory with Punk Powder, the world’s first plastic-free bike cleaner.
The Design & Innovation Award has become a benchmark achievement for the bike industry’s highest-performing products, with a select group of international journalists, professional test riders, and industry experts spending more than 6000 hours during the testing process.
The award article read, “Punk Powder is easy to mix with water and its excellent cleaning power will leave your bikes shining like new, even after the filthiest mud fight. If that isn’t enough, the price point means it’s cheaper than the equivalent 2 x 1L bottles of cleaner. So Punk Powder isn’t just good for the environment, but also your wallet!” – Design & Innovation Award.
Muc-Off’s Punk Powder contains readily biodegradable ingredients and uses 92% less packaging than the equivalent two 1L bottles of Nano Tech Cleaner. The fast-dissolving powdered formula is ready for use within seconds of water being added. It can be mixed in an old Muc-Off plastic bottle or in one of their aluminium Bottles for Life, for all the eco-warriors out there.

Back in 2020, Muc-Off launched their ambitious Project Green Initiative. The brand has since saved over 136 tonnes of plastic through packaging swaps and product innovations, and they’re fast closing in on their 200-tonne, end of year target.
Punk Powder is the result of the Muc-Off’s now engrained, ‘Project Green’ ethos. Whether it’s removing PTFEs from lubes, reducing plastic across the range, or developing a world first, sustainability is at the core of the business. Bagging a win at the Design & Innovation Awards 2022 is both testament to, and recognition of, Muc-Offs significant developments in this space.
