In a move that is guaranteed to put a spring in the footsteps of Reading’s runners, specialist independent running retailer Up & Running will be opening a branch on Broad Street this month. Bucking the current trend and bringing some much-needed confidence to the high street of Reading, Up & Running’s latest store will be a welcome addition to its existing stores throughout the country bringing the total of physical shops to 29 stores nationwide.
With the creation of 6 new local jobs, the new staff team will be fully trained the Up & Running way, to ensure the best customer service and product knowledge. “We are very excited to be opening our Reading store and strengthening our presence in the south of England” said Head of Retail Operations, George Cunningham.
“Since reopening our other stores throughout the country on 15th June, Up & Running has gone to great lengths to ensure that all our stores are Covid-19 secure. We have strict guidelines in place to ensure that staff and customers remain safe. Face masks are worn in all our stores at all times, and a free mask is available for any customers who need one. Stores are sanitised regularly, and shoes are disinfected after they have been tried on, ensuring customers are not limited by only being able to try on one pair of shoes. We look forward to welcoming Reading’s runners to Broad Street in November”.
Based in the former Cath Kidston store on Broad Street, runners and aspiring runners will be able to buy the very latest footwear, clothing and electronics while getting the very best advice from the professional staff team. Digital gait analysis will be available free of charge for anyone looking to buy a new pair of running shoes.
Opening during the week beginning 2nd November, Up & Running will be carrying out gait analysis assessments so you can find your definitive running shoe. Keep your eye on Up & Running Reading’s social media for details of any opening weekend offers and an update to the opening day.
Whether you are an experienced runner, regularly clocking up the miles or new to running and hoping to reach your first 5k, the Up & Running team will be on hand to help you achieve your goals. You can visit the store at 96 Broad Street, Reading RG1 2AP or shop online at www.upandrunning.co.uk
