Molten renews NCAA contract

Molten has renewed its contract with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as the Official Championship Game Ball of the NCAA Division I, II, and III Women’s Championships and the National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship. The company’s IV58L-N Super Touch volleyball, featuring the unique NCAA-inspired blue, silver and white colour combination, will continue to be used at all Division I, II, and III Women’s Championships, while the Men’s National Collegiate Championship ball will continue to be Molten’s V58L-3 Pro Touch volleyball.

The agreement, which began in September 2005, will continue through the 2010 Men’s National Collegiate Volleyball Championship and will include collaboration on a variety of grass-roots, cross-promotional and philanthropic initiatives.

“The NCAA looks forward to its continued relationship with Molten as the official volleyball of the men’s and women’s championships,” says Erika Austin, NCAA assistant director of corporate licensing. “Molten continues to demonstrate, through our combined efforts and quality products, its commitment to enhancing fanfare, education and growth of the sport at the collegiate level.”

Says Fumiya Tamiaki, president of Molten Corporation: “It is our great pleasure to see that our contract with NCAA has been renewed. I am sure you can expect that in many occasions of National Collegiate Volleyball Championships, you will see real games where each player’s excellent techniques and spirit are 100 per cent realised through the balls provided by Molten.”
