The submission deadline for this year’s ispo BrandNew Awards, the biggest contest for young entrepreneurs in the sporting goods industry, is April 7.
Applicants, whose ideas will be judged by a panel of sports industry managers and editors of sports trade magazines, must fulfil the following criteria:
*The brand or company must not be more than four years old.
*The company must be a first-time ispo exhibitor.
*They must have innovative products, designs or marketing initiatives.
Says Szonja Lang from Tyra Clothing, one of last winter’s winners: “ispo was a great success for our business. We were able to generate highly interesting contacts worldwide and orders were placed directly at the trade fair.”
Kevin Veon from the American company Banshee Riverboards, also a winner of an ispo BrandNew Award, had a similar experience: “If we had exhibited at a booth in another hall we never would have received as much attention as at the ispo BrandNew booth.
“We continually had a lot of visits from seriously interested retailers and were able to acquire approximately 40 new customers worldwide.”
