HOKA ONE ONE has been named as the Official Running Partner of Les Templiers, after it announced a three-year partnership with the French-based event, one of the world’s greatest feasts of trail running.
Starting in 2020 and running through to the 2022 Les Templiers event, HOKA’s Official Running Partner status will strive to further build the spectator experience and help increase the event’s profile as it becomes more and more internationally-renowned amongst the trail running community.
Elizabeth Brown, HOKA’s Sports Marketing Manager for EMEA, said: “We are delighted to partner with such a prestigious event that has an incredibly strong connection with the trail community and is forever growing its profile across the world. HOKA was born in the mountains and our pedigree within trail running is something we are proud of. Our partnership with Les Templiers, as a leading trail event, was therefore a natural progression for HOKA and we look forward to working together to grow the event in years to come.”
Meanwhile, Odile Baudrier, creator and co-organiser of Les Templiers, added: “Our team is very pleased and proud to build a partnership with HOKA, a leader in trail running. We appreciate HOKA’s innovative spirit – just like our organisation, the brand is always trying to improve and provide answers within trail running. We’re also proud to share the same footwear partner as the Western States Endurance Race, which was a source of inspiration for Gilles Bertrand and myself in creating Les Templiers in 1995.”
One man who will be running at Les Templiers next year will be star HOKA EMEA athlete Thibaut Garrivier, who this year flew to victory at the Transvulcania Ultramarathon.
Garrivier said: “Being a French trail athlete, Les Templiers is a race I’ve always wanted to compete in. It’s a world-class race where battle is present on all sections until the finish line – and especially during the last, terrible kilometres. I’m very much looking forward to taking to the start line next year.”
HOKA’s partnership with Les Templiers is not the only big trail-related news coming from the premium performance footwear brand.
Last week it announced the launch of the Speedgoat 4, named after HOKA ONE ONE athlete Karl “Speedgoat” Meltzer, and part of an award-winning Speedgoat family known for making quick work of technical terrain.
