College retailer re-opens as specialist sports shop

After 10 years of being based in the grounds of a prestigious private school in Brighton, The College Tailor has relocated to a busy high-street location in ‘the city by the sea’.

The retailer previously served the needs of the 1,500 students at Brighton College, described as ‘One of England’s leading schools’ by The Times.

Due to expansion, the retailer was officially re-opened to the public as a specialist sports shop on September 30 by ex-Brighton College student Holly Colvin, a member of the England women’s cricket team that won the Ashes this summer.

Says The College Tailor’s Brian Murphie: “We are excited by this venture as we already have a captive audience and see huge potential to sell sports kit to the public.

“Through having top professional coaches, ex-sports students that have since gone onto represent our nation and access to 1,500 pupils, we are able to gain knowledge of the most recent trends and technology being used within sport.

“In combination with these creative, informative ideas and our worldwide reputation, we have been able to secure stock from exclusive brands and have even secured Skins and Canterbury as sponsors of our teams.

“We now aim to become the major supplier of specialist sports kit to local teams and health club members.”
