The FSPA Offers Free Insolvency Law Seminar

On 20th November 2015 the Federation of Sport and Play Association (FSPA) will hold a free seminar for all members at The Ardencote Manor, near Warwick.

The seminar entitled ‘Corporate Insolvency for Creditors: The End or is it?’ will examine corporate insolvency from the point of view of creditors and discuss how they can seek to protect their positions best when businesses fail.

It will be split into 5 sessions covering:
• An overview of the different types of corporate insolvency - what do they each mean and what are the consequences for creditors.
• Maximising and protecting your claim in an insolvency - tips and tactics when dealing with the Insolvency Practitioner.
• Retention of Title Clauses - who wins?
• The powers and duties of an Insolvency Practitioner. What does he actually do and can you choose the best person to do the job?
• Getting at the Directors personally: is that possible?

The seminar will be led by acknowledged expert Steve Allinson – Solicitor and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner. Steve said “Businesses are always frustrated when a customer/supplier becomes insolvent owing them money. In this practical seminar I will guide those attending through the insolvency process and provide tips and tactics to assist in maximising financial recoveries and minimise ongoing loses.”

Steve has specialised in credit, debt and insolvency work since 1987, and has extensive experience in dealing with the full range of these procedures.  Prior to setting up his own consultancy in 2008, he was a Business Recovery and Insolvency partner at a major law firm.  He currently undertakes work for Lester Aldridge Solicitors as well as pursuing other projects in the legal, insolvency and credit fields.

Ciara Morgan, FSPA Marketing Manager said “Steve’s client base includes all the major Insolvency and Recovery practices as well as significant national and international companies in the field of debt recovery. In addition to this he has had a wealth of experience working for HM Revenue and Customs and The Insolvency Service on their recovery work. Those present will enjoy a bespoke seminar delivered through a very interactive presentation style.” The event will take place from 10.00 to 13.45 and will be followed by a buffet style networking lunch.
