Summer shows update

Summer shows update

STAG was overwhelmed with the success of its two new buying shows in the UK and Ireland.

Through sweltering heat and the distraction of Andy Murray being the first male British tennis player since 1936 to win Wimbledon, the UK summer show, which took place on July 7-8, proved to be a big hit with both exhibitors and STAG members.

Great offers were available for members, who were also able to see new products from exhibitors.

The first ever Sports Trade Awards was a fantastic finish to the first day of the STAG show.

Congratulations to all of the winners, especially Frank van Wezel, who received the lifetime achievement award.

Dates for next year’s UK summer show (June 29-30) have already been secured with the stunning Cotswold Water Park Hotel.

With the heatwave continuing, members were welcomed to STAG’s first ever Irish summer buying show on July 13-14.

STAG was delighted with the support of both exhibitors and retailers and said the new format of Saturday afternoon and Sunday worked well.

There was a great atmosphere for everyone to enjoy networking and a well deserved cold drink on the Saturday evening.

The 2014 Irish summer show will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, July 12 and all day on Sunday, July 13.

Their range of performance eyewear is made using bio plastic derived from the Castor Bean. The Castor plant is extremely hardy and grows where normal food crops normally perish. This process draws in atmospheric carbon and locks it away in the final product, rather than pulling up traditional oils from underground to make plastics with.
