Sport Industry Group appoints new Executive Director

Benchmark Sport is delighted to announce the appointment of Alex Coulson as the new Executive Director of the Sport Industry Group.

Coulson joins after five and a half years at IMG Consulting where he worked as Director, PR and Social Media.

Starting on 3rd November, Coulson will be responsible for developing the overall business strategy for the Sport Industry Group, including the BT Sport Industry Awards, the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club, the Sport Industry Private Dining Club and the recently launched Cutting Edge Sport

Coulson brings with him a decade of industry experience working with brands, events and federations in the UK and internationally.

Prior to IMG he worked at Karen Earl Sponsorship/Synergy and now joins a growing marketing team at Benchmark Sport following the recent appointment of Charlotte Harwood as the new Marketing and Communications Manager.

Nick Keller, Chairman of the Sport Industry Group, said of the appointment: “Alex’s experience and knowledge will add an immense level of value to an already vibrant and exciting team. His background will prove essential to bringing the Sport Industry Group brand to the next level, and he’ll play a fundamental role in ensuring that the business continues as a leader within the dynamic sector in which we operate. We look forward to him joining us in November.”

Coulson added: “The Sport Industry Group is at the heart of our industry and I have been a long-time admirer and enjoyed working with them for many years. I am delighted to now join the team and it is an honour to be responsible for the continuation of the Sport Industry Group’s success.”
