Premier League Becomes Women in Football’s Newest Corporate Member

The Premier League has demonstrated its commitment to progress on inclusion and diversity by becoming an official corporate member of Women in Football (WIF).
WIF’s Corporate Membership programme drives forward gender diversity by giving organisations across the football industry access to the resources and expertise they need to bring about change from within.

As a corporate member the Premier League will receive support from WIF to achieve its diversity goals, with a bespoke programme designed to suit its particular needs.
The unique range of services WIF will make available to the Premier League will include courses and workshops, and mentoring, group coaching and leadership courses for women employees.
Richard Masters, Chief Executive Officer of the Premier League, said: “The Premier League is committed to promoting equality and tackling discrimination. This partnership adds to our existing wide-ranging work aiming to ensure the Premier League is an inclusive environment for all.

“We look forward to working with Women in Football to as we continue to enhance our equality, diversity and inclusion practices across the League.”
Jane Purdon, Chief Executive Officer of Women in Football, said: “We are delighted to announce that the Premier League is becoming an official corporate member of Women in Football. This signals the Premier League’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and, as an influential footballing body, conveys the importance of WIF’s vision to all within the footballing community.”
Corporate Membership of WIF will help the Premier League in pursuing its recently announced internal diversity targets, as well as in reviewing its own culture and working practices.

Premier League Charitable Fund joins up
The Premier League Charitable Fund (PLCF) has also joined WIF’s Corporate Membership scheme, becoming its first third-sector member.
The fund is an independent charity, set up in 2010, to support activities that inspire young people to achieve their potential and positively impact their communities.
By becoming a WIF corporate member, the PLCF will ensure that its work to build a more diverse and inclusive organisation will be extended across the activities of the 92+ Club Community Organisations (CCOs) who work extensively in local neighbourhoods across England.
The innovative programmes and quality services that the CCOs deliver, alongside the PLCF’s investment in infrastructure and capability, training and advice, will now be underpinned by WIF’s diversity and inclusion policies.
Jane Purdon added: “Welcoming both the Premier League on board as a corporate member and the Premier League Charitable Fund as our first third-sector member is incredibly exciting for WIF. We are thrilled to work with such influential organisations who are passionate about ensuring that all can thrive in the game.”
