International sporting goods retailer Intersport has announced that it is the official sports retail partner of the 2017 Vitality Bath Half Marathon for the second year running.
The partnership comes as the retailer continues to create unique relationships with major brands, further strengthening its position as leader in the global sports market.
It adds to Intersport’s already impressive list of partnerships that includes Parkrun every weekend, Wigan Athletic FC, Tipperary GAA and Scarlets Rugby.
The Vitality Bath Half Marathon, which takes place on March 12, 2017, will work at a local level with Intersport John Moore Sports in Bath.
It will be the second year of partnership between the two, after a highly effective first year in 2016.
Since its collaboration with the Vitality Bath Half, one of the most successful city centre road races in the UK, running has continued to be a key area of growth for Intersport John Moore Sports.
With an in-store treadmill for gait analysis and a popular weekly running club (#jmsruncrew), the family-run sports retailer has enjoyed increased footfall to store and greater involvement with the local running community.
The store is also linked with the local parkrun and is prominent on social media.
As a recognised global brand, Intersport in return lends strong support to a race whose 15,000 places sell out months in advance.
This new partnership is testament to Intersport’s ongoing commitment to the running community and to its continued pledge to unite with major brands whilst fully supporting its independent sports retailers.
The organisers of the Vitality Bath Half, Running High Events, only need to look at Intersport’s successful parkrun partnership, launched in January 2016, as proof of the company’s dedication to play an active part in the community and support grassroots sport.
An inspired global phenomenon, Intersport is proud to be one of the main supporting partners helping to keep parkrun free and enabling over 1.5 million runners complete their weekly 5K in a safe and fun environment.
Tom Foley, General Manager of Intersport UK & Ireland, said: “We are thrilled that Intersport is partnering for a second year with the Vitality Bath Half Marathon.
“Intersport John Moore Sports is the perfect partner at a local level for race activation.
“We are looking forward to being involved in what is set to be a day of huge sporting achievement and incredible atmosphere next March.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to provide ‘Sport to the People’ by supporting runners as they work towards their goals and achieve their dreams.
“It also reflects our desire to build solid connections with major brands and events, to maximise opportunities and awareness for our individual retailers and sport in general.”
