ICON SIGNS UP TO SPORT INDUSTRY AWARDS 2008

The leading event branding and signage specialist becomes category sponsor of the award for Best Sponsorship of a Sport Event of Competition to be presented at the star-studded Sport Industry Awards 2008 ceremony in London on 1st May.

The category boasts an impressive shortlist of brands vying to land the prestigious prize including Artois, Carling, Coca-Cola, E.ON, Flora and Guinness.

As a category sponsor of the Sport Industry Awards 2008, Icon will receive an array of branding opportunities in the lead-up to the ceremony and on the evening itself, tying itself to the industry’s leading celebration and showcase for outstanding commercial success in the business of sport.

Commented Andrew Hodson, Sales & Marketing Director, Icon: “Icon has worked with a large number of international rights holders, event organising committees and sponsors in producing branding and signage to assist in the on-site activation of sponsorships of sports events, so the opportunity to sponsor the ‘Best Sponsorship of a Sport Event or Competition’ category at this year’s Sports Industry Awards is a natural fit.

“It’s also a great chance to meet current and prospective clients, and to showcase Icon’s ability to deliver exceptional and innovative event branding and signage, thus ensuring that sponsors receive the coverage and impact both on the ground and in the media to maximise their ROI. We’re looking forward to a fantastic evening.”

The Sport Industry Awards continue to grow year-on-year and, with 2008 enjoying unprecedented entry levels of impressively high standards, the benchmark has been raised once again. A sell-out crowd of 1,600 will gather at this year’s ceremony to see the winners walk away with a much-coveted Award from a field of 200 entering companies and organisations.
