ICON and BT Sport Industry Awards

The Sport Industry Group has confirmed that ICON, the leading event branding and production specialist, has extended its partnership with the BT Sport Industry Awards, which take place on May 8.

ICON will create the look of the prestigious event, as renowned for its visual displays as it is for its unparalleled status among those in the industry.

As part of the well established partnership, now entering its seventh year, ICON will once again support the award for Best Sponsorship of an Event or Competition, receiving an array of branding and marketing rights in the build-up to the ceremony.

The extension forms part of ICON’s global business strategy, which this year includes providing its services to the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, as well as the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Andrew Hodson, marketing and communications director at ICON, says: “Our work with the BT Sport Industry Awards is reflective of our general business strategy, which is focused on using partnerships to provide our pioneering and quality services to clients across the world.

“The BT Sport Industry Awards is a melting pot of some of the globe’s biggest brands, rights holders and stakeholders and is therefore the perfect opportunity for us to exhibit our work.”

Nick Keller, chairman of the Sport Industry Group, says: “ICON have always ensured that the BT Sport Industry Awards is visually stunning and their partnership with the Best Sponsorship of an Event or Competition is the ideal fit for a brand delivering on so many great events across the world.”

The BT Sport Industry Awards ceremony, to be held at Battersea Evolution in London, brings together 1,750 key influential figures from across the world of sport.

The judging process involves the contribution of more than 50 industry professionals across more than 60 hours, with the entire process overseen at all times by Deloitte, the Official Independent Scrutineers of the BT Sport Industry Awards.

BT is the Headline Partner of the awards.

Official Partners include Barclays, Deloitte and Eurosport.
