2018 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO announces Cancer Research UK as Charity Partner

Organisers of the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO have announced Cancer Research UK as Charity Partner for the 2018 event, which takes place on Sunday, March 18.

The AIMS-accredited OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is one of Europe’s most exciting sporting events and the marathon race is renowned for being flat, fast and scenic. The route covers long stretches of straight, traffic-free road, including the spectacular coastal road of greater Limassol, reaching a maximum altitude of 18m and rewarding runners with magnificent views and a refreshing sea breeze.

It is the ideal race for runners of all abilities, from first-time marathon runners to elite athletes looking to achieve a PB.

All money raised at the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO for Cancer Research UK will help the charity in its effort to beat cancer sooner.

Cancer Research UK is entirely funded by the public and is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. It works tirelessly to support those affected by cancer, and is expected to be a popular and worthy cause for the many British runners preparing to run in Limassol next spring.

The OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO offers six races over two days, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March, and welcomes athletes from near and far to enjoy the flat and fast course, friendly atmosphere, warm spring weather and stunning natural scenery.

The marathon course stretches 21km along the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, from the palm tree-lined seafront at Molos to the new port, the old harbour and the ancient ruins of the Royal City of Amathus.

Entries for the 2018 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO are open. Early bird entrants benefit from a 40 per cent discount until October 31, with fees as follows: Marathon €36, Half Marathon €27, Petrolina 10K Energy Race €18, 5K City Race €18.
