Sports Direct has confirmed it is considering making a bid for Blacks Leisure, the outdoor retailer.
The company, owned by Mike Ashley, blocked Blacks’ proposed £20million fundraising plans last week.
Sports Direct currently has a 28 per cent stake in Blacks, which Ashley purchased for £6million.
Sports Direct added there can be no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made for Blacks and a further announcement will be made when appropriate.
