Revolution Running - a new British sports brand is launched

By: Jeff James

Published: Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Revolution Running, a new, British-based premium running apparel brand, has launched to provide runners with design-led clothing and accessories that enhance the experience of running.

The brand is exclusively utilising British design talent and manufacturers, and its inaugural men and women’s collections will be available to consumers from the end of July.

Revolution Running is positioned to appeal to the discerning runner for whom design, style and originality are as important as technical and performance prowess.

The men and women’s collections feature bold, distinguished design and colours (block red, purple, black and white).

The products available within the ranges include shorts, vests, shirts, tops, hoodies, gilets, leggings and tracksuits for running and for general leisure use.

Performance technologies utilised include Meryl, Stomatex and event.

Revolution’s Running’s positioning as the running brand for runners ‘ready to run a different way’ is further underlined by the brand’s name and distinctive three-bar logo.

Retail price points start around £25 for a technical running shirt.

Based in the Lake District, Revolution Running is owned and managed by Michael Naimski, a keen amateur runner whose initial inspiration for the brand came from the frustration he encountered when trying to find the right running kit.

According to Naimski: “At revolution running, our brand ethos is to concentrate on the emotive elements of running, to propose strong designs that capture the powerful stimulations involved in running, and we want to do it with style.

“We may be for the few, we may be for the many, and if we are seen as providing a very different proposition to the mainstream mass consumer sports brands then that is the start of a real revolution.”

Initially Revolution Running clothing and accessories will be available to the consumer from the brand’s dedicated website (http://www.revolutionrunning.com).

However, the company is also keen to tie-in with a limited number of specialist retailers and has an attractive retail support package to offer, which includes PoS, PR and marketing support, as well as a flexible attitude to advance orders and stock holding facilitated by its UK-centric approach to design and manufacturing.

By not sourcing from the Far East, Revolution Running is able to compress the whole design and production process and create a much more versatile proposition for retailers.

Revolution Running designs will always be current, retailers will not be required to make major stock commitments months in advance and a dedication to UK stock holding means mid-season topping up on popular lines will be the norm.
