Precision Goalkeeping has signed England Blind Football international Lewis Skyers as an ambassador.
Skyers (pictured) has been selected as one of the two authorised sighted goalkeepers for England’s world championship campaign, which kicked off on August 14.
The Malvern Town keeper, who plays for Worcester in the Blind National League, will be wearing Precision Goalkeeping’s new Supersoft Roll gloves and padded shorts throughout the tournament, which takes place on artificial surfaces in Telford.
Skyers, who made his competitive debut in the 2-1 defeat by Spain, says: “Being selected to play for England in the world championship is a great honour.
“The best blind footballers in the world will be on show and we can’t wait to test ourselves on home soil.
“As the only sighted player in the team, the goalkeepers play an important tactical role as well as being the shot stoppers.”
