Pitch, a UK sports and sponsorship communications consultancy, has announced the appointment of Jon Teeman (pictured) as its non-executive chairman.
Teeman, 53, is a marketing and communications expert who has launched some of Britain’s most successful businesses and high-profile building projects. His most recent role was as director of communications for London & Continental Railways, overseeing the launch of the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link and St Pancras International Station. Prior to this Teeman spent five years as head of partnership marketing at Arsenal FC, managing relationships with commercial partners and specifically overseeing the successful launch of the Emirates Stadium. He was also involved in securing Emirates’ 15-year shirt and stadium sponsorship - the largest and longest sponsorship deal in British club football.
Says Henry Chappell, founder and CEO of Pitch: “Jon is an excellent appointment for us as he brings a wealth of marketing and communications experience from a wide range of clients and high-profile projects. Jon’s appointment demonstrates Pitch's continued desire to develop and expand our business, and his arrival is the first significant step in the next stage of our growth. Over the next few months we will be appointing further directors, as well as recruiting additional staff in a number of areas.”
Pitch’s clients have included major international brands involved in sport sponsorship such as Hugo Boss, Sony Ericsson, Skandia and Roxy; sports governing bodies and properties such as the NBA, Chelsea FC and London Wasps; as well as sports and media brands including Canterbury and Perform.
