P2i, the world leader in liquid repellent nano-coating technology, has coated 1,200 pairs of the new Magnum H4H running shoe free of charge in a bid to help raise £10,000 for the Help for Heroes charity.
Developed by Magnum, a leading military and uniform footwear brand, the V-Lite Intrepid HPi is a lightweight, off-road/trail running shoe.
Protected by ion-mask, the shoe keeps wearers comfortable and dry by repelling water from the outside, while maintaining optimum control of temperature and breathability.
Officially endorsed by the H4H charity, 10 per cent from the sale price of each V-light Intrepid HPi H4H will go to Help for Heroes Trading Limited, which gift aids all its taxable profits to Help for Heroes.
“Supporting the H4H charity gives a great sense of pride and achievement for P2i as we return to our military roots,” says Dr Stephen Coulson, CTO of P2i.
“In 2004 P2i spun out from the UK Ministry of Defence to commercialise technology originally developed to make soldiers’ protective clothing more effective against chemical attack.
“Now commercially successful in a range of key market sectors, P2i has experienced tremendous growth in the footwear sector over the past six months, as demand and processing capabilities continue to increase.
“ion-mask technology has now been applied to millions of pairs of shoes worldwide and has expanded production into accessories, including hats and gloves.”
ion-mask provides a range of benefits for footwear and accessories by resisting the absorption of water and dirt as it guards against stains, ensuring products look newer for longer.
The technology is applied at the nano-scale, meaning it is invisible to wearers and doesn’t affect the weight, look or feel of the shoe.
