Alberto Landi, the marketing and communication director of Lotto Sport Italia (pictured), died at the weekend following a sudden and incurable illness.
The 36-year-old business economics graduate joined the Lotto group as area manager for the Italian market in 1999. In 2001 he was asked to run the company's strategic planning office, before being appointed marketing and communication director in 2004. During his time with Lotto, Landi was involved in the acquisition of the Etonic brand and the launch of both the Lotto Works Project and the Lotto Leggenda range. He also headed important advertising and communication campaigns, as well as being involved in high-profile sponsorship deals.
Says Andrea Tomat, president of Lotto Sport Italia: "The passing of Alberto is a loss which is impossible to describe, an immeasurable sadness for all those who have had the privilege of knowing him. His intelligence, professionalism, innate kindness and sympathetic behaviour have left an indelible memory in the hearts of everyone. The many projects we worked on together will remain in my memory forever, his compassionate availability and a personal relationship based on immense trust and friendship that I will miss forever.”
