JJB Sports has applied to put its Lifestyle division into administration after failing to find a buyer for its Original Shoe Company and Qube subsidiaries.
OSC has 64 stores in the UK and Qube 13. Combined the two retailers employ 800 people. Qubefootwear was bought from Sir Tom Hunter for £1, while OSC was bought from Sports Direct for £5million.
The JJB board is hopeful of finding a buyer, despite the division trading at a substantial loss for some time.
JJB has confirmed that it has received a number of ‘indications of interest’ for its fitness clubs business.
