MBT has appointed Jan Stig Andersen (pictured) as chief executive officer.
According to Hermann Oberschneider, chairman of MBT’s board of directors, the hiring of Andersen marks a change of focus in the MBT Group: “We are confident that Jan Stig Andersen’s experience, proven track record of achievement and passion will expand MBT’s footprint around the world.
“Jan Stig Andersen has a strong understanding of the product, market and of the consumer. Based on MBT’s unique product and the company’s efficient operational set-up, we are convinced that MBT is ready to begin a new chapter and Jan Stig Andersen is the right man to create the foundation for further growth.”
Andersen, 43 and from Denmark, most recently served as CEO of the BTX Group A/S, one of Europe’s major textile fashion groups. Prior to that he was CEO of ECCO North America.
