Established almost 500 years ago, Pocklington School knows a thing or two about school sportswear - pupils at the private secondary school can now be seen sporting new tennis, cricket and athletics kits from the new Gymphlex GFORCE range, with plans in place to introduce school tracksuits and hockey kits in the next academic year.
According to shop manager Karen Smitheman, Gymphlex has reliably supplied Pocklington School with quality sportswear for a number of years, but the school has recently been looking to improve and update pupils’ kit.
Says Smitheman: “Gymphlex have always provided us with a very professional service and high quality garments, but we are always open to improvements which will provide real benefits to our pupils and parents.
"The new GFORCE skort and top, which replaces our traditional gym pants and skirt, is very popular with everyone - the girls love the contemporary look and the wicking performance of the fabric, which keeps them comfortable on the sports field; their coaches love their smart new look; and parents appreciate the quick drying, easy-care fabric which requires no ironing, so everyone is happy.”
The skort and tennis shirt are produced in a variety of fabrics. Pocklington School chose Eye Droplet, an easy-care fabric with inherent moisture management qualities. Perforations in the fabric allow excellent circulation around the body. This material is ideal for helping to control body temperature and, therefore, suitable for both winter and summer sports.
Working with Gymphlex, Pocklington School was able to take advantage of the company's extensive colour range, reflecting the school colours of navy blue and sky blue across the entire kit, aside from the traditional cricket whites. Due to its flexible manufacturing options, Gymphlex was able to embroider the school badge directly onto the garments using the company's state-of-the-art embroidery service.
